Lanaudière is the relief valve between Montreal and the deep north — less crowded than the Laurentians, more accessible than Mauricie. It's a blend of agricultural plains in the south, deep lakes in the centre (Saint-Donat, Saint-Côme, Mandeville), and protected boreal forest in the north (the eastern flank of Parc national du Mont-Tremblant, the Sept-Chutes regional park).

Our chalets for rent in Lanaudière cluster around Lac Archambault in Saint-Donat, Lac Maskinongé, and the villages of Saint-Côme and Sainte-Émélie-de-l'Énergie. Many sit on private or semi-private lakes, ideal for groups seeking quiet — without the Sunday-night Highway 15 crawl.

Saint-Donat is also a gateway to Mont Garceau (alpine skiing) and Parc national du Mont-Tremblant via Lac-Monroe — hiking in summer, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in winter. Book direct, local concierge, CITQ permits on file.

FAQ

Renting a cottage in Lanaudière

How much does a chalet in Lanaudière cost?
Lanaudière is one of the most affordable regions — expect $175 to $550/night depending on season and property. Median rate is around $295/night, roughly 30% less than the Laurentians at comparable quality. Best value-for-money in our portfolio.
Is Lanaudière good for snowmobiling?
Excellent region for snowmobiles — Trans-Québec trails 3 and 33 run through Saint-Donat, Saint-Côme and Sainte-Émélie. Many of our chalets have direct trail access or trailer parking. Season: mid-December to mid-March, snow-dependent.
Is there skiing in Lanaudière?
Yes — Mont Garceau and Val Saint-Côme at Saint-Donat / Saint-Côme. More modest than Tremblant or Bromont, but much cheaper and far less crowded. Ideal for families with beginners.
Saint-Donat or Saint-Côme: where to stay?
Saint-Donat for direct access to Lac Archambault, Mont Garceau and the national park. Saint-Côme for a more rustic setting, canoeing and access to Sept-Chutes. They're 25 minutes apart — easy to see both in one stay.
How long is the drive from Montreal to Saint-Donat?
About 1 h 45 via Highway 25 then Route 125. Allow 2 h 00 to 2 h 30 Friday evening in peak season. Saint-Donat is a great alternative to Tremblant if you want to avoid Sunday-evening traffic on Highway 15.
